How Insurify makes money

Insurify partners with top national and regional insurance companies to provide accurate, real-time quotes. Just like an insurance agent, we earn a commission when you buy a policy through our website. Commissions don’t affect which quotes we recommend, and you can order your quotes according to your preference.

If an insurer is featured on our site without a price, we may receive per-click compensation for connecting you to their site. We do not, however, sell your phone number or personal information to third parties for profit, so shopping with us won’t flood your inbox with spam.

Our editorial standards and independence

Our insurance company partners pay us a commission when you purchase a policy through our platform. They do not pay, direct, or in any way interact with our editorial team.

Our staunchly independent team of skilled editors, writers, insurance agents, and insurance executives create our content using Insurify’s own proprietary data, and verified, reputable sources of information. These sources include government authorities, independent research organizations, insurance company representatives, educational institutions, and expert interviews.

Our data sources and how we use them

Insurify is a licensed insurance agent in all 50 states, and we use direct API integrations with individual insurers to provide you with accurate, real-time quotes. The majority of the data on our pages comes from our proprietary product database of more than 40 million quotes.

Our data scientists, working with the editorial team, analyze and condense this data according to the context of the page to provide accurate comparisons for readers. Most pages on Insurify’s website showcase apples-to-apples comparisons by querying for specific coverage profiles. Each page carries details regarding the source of the data, as well as how we analyzed the data to provide the quotes on the page.

In some cases, we use external data sets provided by Quadrant Information Services, which sources its data from publicly available insurance prices through the department of insurance in each state. Insurify’s team also often gathers information using trusted independent surveys such as Pollfish for data and consumer feedback, which is sometimes featured on our pages.

The Insurify Composite Score

In addition to consulting external resources, we also use the Insurify Composite Score to make recommendations. Our data scientists and insurance editors generate this proprietary rating by weighing multiple factors that reflect the quality, reliability, and health of an insurance company. 

We consider ratings that include customer satisfaction surveys, customer complaints, mobile app reviews, user-generated company reviews, and financial strength ratings from A.M. Best, Standard & Poor’s, Moody’s, and Fitch.
